LAS VEGAS -- The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway provided high-impact racing excitement when the Speedway Casino and Cafe presented the Night of Champions season finale.

As the season wound down, the racing excitement heated up in the NASCAR Charger division. Len DeJoria, Keith Danser and Al DeJoria were within three points of the championship. After Al DeJoria left the track during the first lap and Danser had car problems, Len DeJoria was left to claim the title of season champion. Pat Petrie Sr. took the checkered flag in the main event.

Dick Cobb took the final step in securing the champion title in the NASCAR Late Model division by holding off Scott Gafforini and Jeff Perkins in the 40-lap main event.

Grand American Modified driver Dan Fitzgerald had to battle Fabian Bray for the main event win. Bray took second in the 30-lap feature.

Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends driver Kyle Busch lengthened his points lead by finishing first in the main event.

Justin Johnson remained the points leader in the Bandolero division. Johnson never gave up his pole position and captured the checkered flag in the main event. Justin Waters took second.

Casey Kingsland was announced as the Mini Stock champion for the season. Kingsland helped debut the new Outlaw Stock division. The new division will be racing in the 2001 season.

The Super Bowl of car football added to the night of racing excitement. The Gearheads outscored the Metal Militia for the $1,000 purse.

"It was a great season at The Bullring. We are very grateful for the drivers and the fans. We can't wait until the 2001 season," said David Stetzer, director of short-track events.
