Braselton, Ga. (October 1, 2003) - Lanier National Speedway announced today that Kerry Earnhardt has been added to the lineup of NASCAR drivers scheduled to participate in a 20-lap match race, an autograph session, and question-and-answer session at the north Georgia track on Saturday night October 25.
Billed as Driven to Rock, Kevin Harvick and Jimmy Spencer will join Earnhardt in what will be a unique opportunity for fans to rub shoulders with these fierce competitors. A fourth NASCAR Winston Cup driver will added and named soon.
A son of the late seven-time Winston Cup champion Dale Earnhardt and a third-generation driver, Kerry has run a partial NASCAR Busch Series schedule and attempted to qualify for three Winston Cup races in 2003.
Harvick currently sits second in NASCAR Winston Cup points and won the prestigious Brickyard 400 in August. He pilots the No. 29 Goodwrench Chevrolet.
Spencer is widely regarded as one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR and is rarely at a loss for words. "Mr. Excitement's" victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in September at Loudon, NH put him in an elite company of drivers who have scored career wins in Winston Cup, the Busch Series, and Craftsman Truck Series.
In addition, fans will also enjoy a 100-lap Team Ford of Marietta Truck race. The 2003 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Shortrack Atlantic Division champion, Curt Britt of Dahlonega, will be among the expected entries.
Driven to Rock will also include a 30-lap Simpson's Trucking Sportsman feature race.
