The weather was perfect, there were over 90 cars in the pits, and the large crowd witnessed some great side by side Nascar weekly racing action at the Zoo. "Danny Mac" Dan McEndarfer piloted the Pobuda Racing #8 to his 1st-ever Wayland Chevrolet 50 lap Super Late Model feature win Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway.

The win did not come easily for McEndarfer though as previous week''''s winner Phil Bozell was just a 1/2 car length behind at starter Bobby Galloway''''s checkered flag. The race was slowed on lap 4 when Andy Ponstein spun in turn 2. Greg Himes and John Chapman got together on the frontstretch on lap 29. Lap 34 saw a major melee in turns 3 & 4 eliminating top point contenders Rick Sexton and Curt Spalding both with heavy damage. Dave Lober wound up in 3rd spot with Hank Miller 4th and Steve Needles 5th. Andy Bozell moved into 1st place in the points standings with his 6th place finish. 7th was Jeff Ganus followed by Himes, Jerry Drake and Chapman. Heat wins went to Ganus, Phil Bozell and Needles. Todd Harrington captured the Last Chance event.

Kyle VanSparrentak posted his 2nd Best Way Disposal Limited Late Model feature triumph. Brian Bergakker tried valiantly to get by VanSparrentak but, had to settle for 2nd. The race was red-flagged on lap 16 for a frontstretch crash involving Bob Town and Jacob Hopwood. Following Bergakker at the stripe were Tom Rutherford, Luke Krick and Rich Hardy. Rounding out the top 10 were Mike Brooks, Kenny Head, Brandon Lyons, Rick Van Houten and Jon Orr. Heat winners were Lyons, Bergakker and Krick. Patrick Kirkendall won the B feature.

Bryan Van Zile scored his 6th E&D''''s High Performance Sport Stocks feature win. Rookie BJ Orr recorded his career-best feature finish in 2nd spot. Ben Raber was 3rd with Courtney Weston 4th and Al Webber 5th. 6th was Dale McGhan followed by Todd Foote, John TerMeer, Ron Coburn and Del Heckelman. Heats went to McGhan and Trent Hellenga.

Jimmy Wheaton recorded his 2nd Home Depot Pure Stocks feature win of the 2005 season. Brad Shellenbarger was 2nd with Greg Haynes 3rd, Tyler Hassing 4th and Frank Abraham 5th. Placing 6-10 were Lloyd Brooks, Butch Glass, Matt Noble, Jacob Caines and Bob Livingston. Australian Pursuit races were won by Hassing and Mark Fliearman.

As the Chase for the Championship is starting to shape up, the next few weeks promises to show the fans some continued great racing action. Come on out next Saturday, and see for yourself what the buzz is all about, only at Kalamazoo Speedway, where the Local Cars turn into Future Stars!
