Jack Roush, NASCAR team owner, businessman and pilot, was in a private plane crash this evening, Tuesday July 27, at Whitman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Roush and passenger Brenda Strickland were taken to a local hospital.
Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith notified the Associated Press stating that "There are injuries. Possible surgery, but he walked out of the plane."
Roush was flying his Hawker Beechcraft Premier jet when upon landing the accident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m.
Roush was reported to have facial lacerations and per the Roush Fenway Racing press release: "Dr. Kevin Wasco, the attending physician, says that Roush is in serious but stable condition. His injuries are not life threatening."
Strickland was also taken to the local hospital and her injuries were also non life threatening.
An avid pilot, Roush was on his way to attend Oshkosh's Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) Experimental Aircraft Association's annual AirVenture.
