Irwindale, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2001) - - "If the situation stays the same, we plan on going ahead with our scheduled Fan Appreciation Night at the Speedway," said track General Manager Bob DeFazio. Saturday, September 15, has been designated as a "Thank You" to Irwindale's loyal fans featuring $5.00 tickets, $1.00 hot dogs and special drawings for great prizes and ticket packages.

"We will have our track chaplain do the invocation before the races and observe a minute of silence for the victims of Monday's sneak attack on the United States prior to starting the event," he indicated. "We've been in contact with the American Red Cross and will be accepting donations for them at the races on Saturday night."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families who have been scarred by this awful deed, we know that our country will stand this test and come out even stronger because of it," DeFazio concluded.
