EASTER BUNNY AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENER, APRIL 3 BECHTELSVILLE, PA MARCH 28, 1999 . . . The Easter Bunny will be at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, April 3, to help kick off the 1999 NASCAR stock car racing season. The 5 p.m. tripleheader show will include the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsmen stock cars. Not to push the Easter Bunny out of the picture but the highlight of the show will be a 37-lap feature for the NASCAR Modifieds that will earn the winner at least $3,000. As part of the excitement of Easter weekend, the Easter Bunny will present a lucky youngster with a Easter basket full of goodies. The winner will be selected from ticket stubs turned in by the youngsters at the admission gate. The Easter Eve show will feature a full card of qualifying races for all divisions of competition. Ray Swinehart, the NASCAR Modified champion, will be back to defend his title. The different this year is that Swinehart will be driving his own entry. And the Mike Kelly owned entry that Swinehart drove to the title in 1998 will be taken over by Tom Mayberry, a former track champion. Expected to be in competition on opening night are many of the top names in local modified, sportsmen and late model stock car racing. In other news regarding Grandview Speedway, Emma Schnable, wife of NASCAR Modified driver Ron Schnable, will serve as guest coordinator. She will be available to work with sponsors at their events during the season. On Saturday night, April 24, the first 300 people to enter the main gate will receive a free cap, courtesy of Grandview Speedway and Bob Hilbert Sportswear. In addition there will be special prizes throughout the evening for lucky fans and the Bob Hilbert Sportswear trailer will be on location with many new and colorful displays. Grandview Speedway will be presenting tripleheader shows of NASCAR stock car racing each Saturday night throughout April. Each night of action will start at 5 p.m. and feature NASCAR Modifieds, Sportsmen and Late Models. At least 13 events of stock car racing make up each night of racing.
