Daytona Beach, Fla. (May 15, 2001) - Cam Strader of Wilson, N.C. moves into first place in Championship Points for the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring by virtue of a win at Orange County Speedway, two top fives, and finishing in the top ten in each of his three starts this season. Strader also won his first pole of the season this past week at Darlington Raceway and led the first 65 laps. Strader drove his Wesson CookingOil/Peter Pan Butter Mercury Cougar to the 2000 Rookie of the Year title. His team is led by Crew Chief Barry Owens. Cam Strader is also leading the Gatorade Front Runner Award.

Just two points behind is Justin Hobgood, who won the season opening race at Daytona. Roger Sawyer of Orlando, Fla. sits in third. Shane Hmiel, the Series' most recent winner moves to fourth place. B.J. Mackey rounds out the top five.

Shane Hmiel leads the Rookie of the Year Contenders by three points over Wayne Edwards. Edwards is one of three drivers competing in a Toyota Celica for 2001.

The Series currently has two female drivers, Angie Wilson and Kelly Sutton. Angie drives the Jim Cook Chevrolet/Hoss Tanning Sauce entry. She is also seventh in the points. Sutton plans on a limited schedule in 2001 and hopes to race full-time next season in her Team Copaxone entry.

The Older Guys...Larry Caudill, two-time Series Champion (1987-88) has teamed up with Gary Moore. Larry was slightly injured in a practice crash at Darlington but returned the next day to compete in the race after being released by his doctor. Moore is also a longtime competitor in the Series. Ned Combs, who won at Orange County in 2000 returned to action to finish third at Darlington. Two past Champions Mickey York and Will Hobgood participated at Darlington to help with research and development for the Strader and Miller Racing entries.
