FEATHERLITE MODIFIED RUFFLES 150 QUALIFYING NOTES

BUDDY NORTON ( #47 Hoosier/National Parts Peddler Chevrolet) -- We have a problem with either the engine not venting properly and we're trying to figure out what that is. My one and only qualifying lap was the only lap we've run today. I've got a lot of experience here but it doesn't do any good if the car doesn't run more than a lap at a time. We're going to pull the pan off and see what the deal is. I know its a circle track pan, which other people are getting away with here, but we may have to make some modifications and see what happens tomorrow morning. I have very little experience in the modifieds.I ran this race last year I jumped in in relief for Bruce D'Alessandro in one of Ben Dodge's cars, and I haven't had a chance to race in them since then. These cars are great. They are so much fun to race up here.

TIM CONNOLLY (#4 Ralston Purina/Tidy Cat Dodge) -- There are a handful of good cars to go yet. (Connolly was second fastest when a rain delay interupted qualifying, with the last group left to run) I don't know if that's going to hold up or not. With only four laps of practice, I'm proud of the team. We dug our way back and got ourselves up in the 13s. That will keep us up in the top five for sure. It might very well stay right there. That 13.9 is very fast. It surprised me too, but I'm disappointed we didn't get down into Stefanik's neck of the woods, but hey, for only four laps of practice, we're digging, we're doing okay. We didn't change the engine. We put the other one back in. I don't know if that's going to happen or not. We can, we've still got something left for them. What kind of gut instinct are you getting for this weekend? Today's been a real tough day on us. It's been a real yo-yo. Mike Stefanik's pretty tough. I think we can run up front for the most part with what we've got. We'd like to make the motor change and we can run with Mike and put on one heck of a show. I hope that can happen, otherwise Mike's got us all nervous. He's going to be tough.

MIKE EWANITSKO (#8 Universal Welding Chevrolet) -- I'm pretty happy with my qualifying other than about four or five other cars to go yet that are real fast. They were real fast in practice. As of right now, no matter what, we'd still be in the top ten. I'd be happy with that.
