Nazareth, PA (May 16, 2002) - Jim Schnorr and John Walson have been named Grand Marshals for this weekend's support races at Nazareth Speedway. Schnorr, Burnham Boilers' regional sales manager of the MidAtlantic region, will give the famous command to start engines for Saturday's Burnham Boilers 100 NASCAR Busch North Series race, while Walson, president of Service Electric Cable TV, will do the same on Sunday for the Service Electric 100 NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series race.
Schnorr has been with Burnham Boilers for nine years and started as a salesman with the company. Through the years, he has worked his way through the ranks to his current position as Regional Sales Manager. Burnham Boilers chose him because of his dedication to the company and his desire to assist his customers grow their business.
Walson has been involved in the cable television industry for over 38 years. Prior to becoming President of Service Electric, he spent a number of years in the field operations of the Company, including ten years as a headend technician, ten years as a field technician, and six years as chief engineer for the Company's TV studio. As President of Service Electric Cable TV, Inc. and Service Electric Cable TV of Hunterdon, Inc., which serves the Lehigh Valley, Phillipsburg, and parts of Hunterdon County, Walson is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company, along with project development and management.
"We are pleased to include these two exemplary individuals, each of whom has shown a tremendous commitment to their respective companies, in our opening ceremonies during our NASCAR tripleheader weekend," said track President Craig Rust.
Nazareth Speedway will host NASCAR racing with the NASCAR Busch Series taking center stage on Sunday, May 19, 2002 in the STACKER 2 "200" as the highlight of the weekend's activities. Watch such Busch Series notables such as Kenny Wallace, Jack Sprague, Kerry Earnhardt and Randy LaJoie as they battle for Nazareth bragging rights and you never know who you will see around the Speedway, including WWE (formerly the WWF) Superstar Diamond Dallas Page, who will be giving the command for Sunday's race. The NASCAR Busch North Series will compete in Saturday's Burnham Boilers 100 and following Sunday's Busch Series race, the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series competes in the Service Electric 100.
