GRESHAM GRABS WIN WITH GREAT FINISH AT IOWA

NEWTON, Iowa (May 24, 2010) -- If his stock car racing career doesn't pan out, maybe Max Gresham should try drag racing.

Gresham won the drag race off the final corner on the last lap and won the Goodyear Dealers of Iowa 200 at Iowa Speedway, a combination race for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and K&N Pro Series West cars. Championship points were awarded for both series in the annual coming together in the middle of the country.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier for the K&N Pro Series teams and for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The bias-ply tires Goodyear sells to the teams provide a stable racing platform in NASCAR's top developmental racing series.

Gresham led three times for a total of 14 laps but he did not lead lap 200 of the scheduled 200-lap race. The field had to complete a green, white checker finish and Gresham passed Ty Dillon as they exited the final corner for the final time, grabbing the win by just .039 of a second.

Dillon finished second, followed by Darrell Wallace, Corey LaJoie and David Mayhew.

There were 44 starters for the chase around the .875-mile track and seven drivers exchanged the lead nine times. Drivers came from 19 US states, two Canadian provinces and Brazil.

Mayhew started on the pole, thanks to a 132.626 mph lap during time trials.

Gresham leads the East Series points with 469 and Ryan Truex is second with 456. Mayhew leads the West Series with 510 points, followed by Eric Holmes with 453.
