Second Lap, Second Blow to Wyatt Motorsports

Stafford Springs, CT- After 2 weeks of late night and early morning repairs to get ready for Stafford, all was wiped out in less then 2 laps. Casey, driver of the #23 Monte Carlo went out for his first practice. During his first lap he knew he had a car that was going to be fast. He stated "the car felt the best it had ever felt." As said above, that was short lived. As Casey entered turn 3 of his second lap the throttle stuck sending the car into the outside wall. Casey was able to lock the breaks and hit the kill switch, but with the amount of speed you carry at Stafford the car received extensive damage. The right front suspension along with the right side of the new body the team just finished, was bent beyond repair.

Wayne stated that he didn't know if he should get mad, sad, or just throw up. The team worked so hard for us to make this race, You just can't imagine the disapointment I feel for them. Casey has worked 14-16 hours everyday to race here.

Plans for the future are on hold. Wyatt stated that 2 big blows in as many races has eaten up much of the budget that the team had. Wyatt also stated how bad he felt for his son. Casey has the talent and determination to make it in this sport. Being a one car team and all volunteer crew means he has to do much of the work himself. He feels really bad right now. He knows how much money it takes to race and hates it when the car gets damaged.

We will get back to the shop and diagnose the damage, then make plans for the next race that we will be able go to. We would like to thank of the officials and other teams came by to give us their support and tell us how they hated to see what happened, happen.

I'd like to say a special "Thank You" to all of the team members and their families. They have sacraficed a lot for us to make this race.
