MOFFITT SETS RECORD WITH NASCAR CAMPING WORLD EAST WIN

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (June 2, 2009) -- Sometimes youth can be served in an adult setting.

Brett Moffitt, a 16-year-old stock car racer, won the South Boston 150 at South Boston Speedway and became the youngest winner in the long history of the NASCAR Camping World Series East. Sprint Cup regular Joey Logano held the record previously.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Camping World Series East and West programs and supplies the same line of Goodyear's bias-ply Racing Eagles to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

Moffitt led twice during the 150-lap chase around South Boston's 4/10-mile oval, including the final 67 laps. He averaged 63.830 mph and his margin of victory was very roomy by Series standards, 3.691 seconds.

Ryan Gifford, driving for Richard Childress, started 10th and finished second. Ryan Truex, brother of Sprint Cup veteran Martin Truex, was third. Jody Lavender and Joe Gibbs driver Max Gresham finished the top five.

Lavender leads the standings with 625 points, followed by Moffitt's 599.
