Goess Debuts in NASCAR Camping World Series at Greenville-Pickens Speedway

GREENVILLE, SC. (April 18, 2008) -- Craig Goess makes his NASCAR debut this weekend in the American Revolution 150 Presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. Goess will make the transition from Legends racing to stock cars behind the wheel of the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Camping World Series East.

"I'm really excited to be driving in the NASCAR Camping World East Series this year and to make move up to stock car racing," said Goess. "I'm glad this weekend is finally here. It's been tough to sit and wait for the season to begin."

To prepare for the season, Goess has tested at Caraway Speedway and Greenville-Pickens Speedway with this Eddie Sharp Racing team.

When asked what the biggest difference he felt between the Legends car and the stock car, Goess replied, "I would have to say the weight and trying to stop it. Just having the feeling of something three-times the size around you because it isn't quite as nimble as the smaller [Legends] car is. But on the flip side, I have a lot more tire than I am used to as well. With both cars, it's the same basic principle, make it go as fast as possible and turn well."

"My guys have been working really hard on these cars and I really appreciate it," commented Goess. "We're looking forward to running this full season. I think we are going to be very competitive and should find our way to victory lane."

SPEED will provide coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Series East opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway (S.C). SPEED will also televise the NASCAR Camping World Series East races from South Boston (Va.) Speedway, Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International, and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Camping World Series East practice runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Qualifying follows at 6:00 p.m. The green flag for the American Revolution 150 Presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet at Greenville-Pickens Speedway drops Saturday, April 19th, at 8:00 p.m. and will be delayed broadcast on SPEED. All times listed are EASTERN.
