Santerre Wins Busch North Race at Seekonk

SEEKONK, Mass. (June 15, 2004) -- Andy Santerre added a missing piece to his career mosaic by winning the Budweiser 150 at Seekonk Speedway. The race was the third of the season for the NASCAR Grand National Division Busch North Series.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for NASCAR's Grand National Division, which also includes the NASCAR West Series.

Santerre is a two-time champion of the Busch North Series, but had not won on Seekonk's 1/3-mile oval venue. He started fifth and averaged 63.552 mph on his way to the victory.

Mike Olsen finished second, .767 of a second behind the winner. Matt Kobyluck took third place, Brian Hoar was fourth and Dave Dion came home fifth.

Dion won the Busch Pole Award with a lap averaging 92.130 mph. It marked the 21st pole of Dion's career, second on the all-time list.

Dion led the first 78 laps before Santerre and Olsen exchanged the lead. Santerre led the final 19 circuits.
