Bully Hill Vineyards Rejoins Dale Quarterley For Two Upcoming Busch North Races
(Westfield, Mass. - July 28, 2004) - Bully Hill Vineyards, which distributes wines in 26 states from its Hammondsport, N.Y. winery, has agreed to sponsor 1/4 LEY Racing's Dale Quarterley in the next two NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series races. These races will be held at Adirondack International Speedway in Beaver Falls, N.Y. on Saturday, July 31st and at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, August 14th.
This partnership was first forged last year, when Westfield, Massachusetts' Quarterley drove a Bully Hill-sponsored Chevrolet at Watkins Glen. He was fast in practice and won the pole for the race, and led it until making a planned pit stop. Unfortunately, rain came and forced the race to be shortened before he could get back to the front of the field. Bully Hill's Lillyan Taylor was not discouraged.
"She was excited about how well we ran, but disappointed that we couldn't win the race," Quarterley said. "So she said they would stay on board, and we had Bully Hill on the car for the next race, which was at Adirondack."
In that race, Quarterley stormed through the field after making a mid-race pit stop, taking the lead from Martin Truex, Jr. and going on to win.
"I called to tell her that we won, and she said that she knew we were going to. She said she just knew we were the kind of team that could pull together, put the Glen race behind us and fight back, and that's exactly what we did.
Bully Hill was on Quarterley's car for five races last year, and Quarterley is delighted to have them back on board in 2004.
"It's fantastic that we have Bully Hill on board for races at two of the tracks where we've had our best performances," Quarterley continued. "We've always been fast at the Glen even though circumstances have kept us from winning there. And at Adirondack, the results speak for themselves. It's a great way to further our relationship."
Quarterley enters this weekend's Adirondack race on a positive note as he's coming off a win last Saturday at New Hampshire International Speedway, one of the biggest races of the year for the Busch North Series.
Adirondack International Speedway is located just 30 minutes from Watertown, N.Y., and its race day includes qualifying at 5:00 p.m. with race time set for 8:00.
Watkins Glen's race, which shares the weekend with the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, will be broadcast live on HDnet Television with coverage starting at 1:30 p.m. on August 14th. It will also be rebroadcast on SpeedTV at noon on October 16th.
