Loudon, NH -- Kelly Moore of Scarborough, ME won the Bud Pole award today during qualifying for Saturday's Gumout Long Life Formula 100 at New Hampshire International Speedway. The 1995 Busch North Series, a NASCAR Touring Series, Champion circled the 1.058 mile oval in 30.930 seconds for an average speed of 123.143 MPH. "We had an outstanding qualifying run here today," a smiling Moore said. "Our car was about 4th fastest during the last practice session but not as fast we had tested here previously last month. The Tic-Tac team did a great job on the setup of the car and we knew we had a shot at winning the pole."
With his award today, Moore has won 33 pole awards, a Busch North Series record.
The Busch North Series is making the first of four visits to New Hampshire International Speedway, Moore has won here two times in his career and looks to add another victory to his long list of series accomplishments. "We've got a good car and team capable of winning the race tomorrow," Moore concluded. "We just have to be patient and stay out of trouble. This is a big boost for myself and the entire team. It's been a long time since we've won a race here and I like our chances for tomorrow."
