BRAD LEIGHTON AND NDS MOTORSPORTS READY FOR VICTORY
Milton, VT...When the Sylvania 125, Round 12 of the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series thunders into action, Saturday, September 16 at New Hampshire International Speedway, Brad Leighton and NDS Motorsports will be ready to move their Irving Oil Ford right to the front of the field.
"This will be the second time we have raced our Irving Oil Ford at New Hampshire this season," explains Leighton who also carries ATPAC as an associate sponsor. "Last time out we had a really good piece, but unfortunately we had an alternator problem that put us behind the eight-ball. NDS Motorsports is one of the best teams in the industry and it was their hard work that kept us in the running. This time we plan to be out front."
"Our entire team is ready for this event," says team owner Bob Torriere. "Leighton's behind the wheel skill is well documented and everyone on the crew is extremely motivated and determined to take the win. Our Irving Ford has been finely tuned and is ready for action. All that is needed is the Green Flag.'
A native of the Granite State, Leighton is well versed on all the ins-and-outs of the 1.058 mile semi-banked oval New Hampshire track. In fact, he is the all time winningest driver in NHIS track history.
"Not only is NHIS my hometown track," smiles Leighton, "but it is my favorite track. I have earned eight wins there and am banking on making this race number nine. The keys to doing well are having a really good chassis setup, some good steam and a top-notch crew. We know we have all three and that's a large part of the battle. Qualifying up front, exercising lots of patience and never losing your concentration are the other important factors. You have to hit your marks and be ready to pounce the second the opportunity arises. The only other thing needed is some good old-fashioned luck and we are banking on getting that this time out."
One of the hottest racing series in NASCAR today, Busch East, (formerly Busch North) offers non-stop intense action. "There are a number of top competitors in this year's series," says Leighton, "and the racing is pretty fast and furious. It is always thrilling for both the fans and the drivers. The September 16 race is part of the Sylvania 300 NASCAR weekend and that means all the Nextel Cup teams and Craftsman Truck teams will be on site and that adds even more excitement. Truth be known, I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the NDS Irving Ford once again."
Qualifying for the 125 Lap/132.25-mile Sylvania 125 takes place on Thursday, September 14 at 4:15 PM (ET) with racers taking the Green Flag on Saturday, September 16 at 12:10 PM (ET). Race action will be broadcast live on HDNet.
