NASCAR LEGENDS PEARSON AND INGRAM TO SERVE AS GRAND MARSHAL, HONORARY STARTER FOR NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL DIVISION, BUSCH EAST SERIES OPENER AT GREENVILLE-PICKENS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 7, 2006) -- Two of NASCAR's greatest drivers, each with a strong connection to Greenville-Pickens Speedway, will serve in honorary positions at this Saturday's An American Revolution 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet at the historic South Carolina track. The event opens the 2006 NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series season and commemorates 35 years of live NASCAR television. It will be carried live in high definition by HDNet beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.

David Pearson, three-time champion of the original NASCAR Grand National series (now the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series), will serve as Grand Marshal. A native of nearby Spartanburg, S.C., Pearson was the 1959 track champion at Greenville-Pickens and finished second to Bobby Isaac in the 1971 Grand National race which made history as the first live, flag-to-flag NASCAR race on a major network when it was telecast by ABC's Wide World of Sports.

Jack Ingram will be the honorary starter for An American Revolution 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet. The Asheville, N.C. driver was a weekly competitor at Greenville-Pickens before the NASCAR Busch Series was formed and owns five NASCAR championships between the pre-1982 late model sportsman division and the modern Busch Series. He still fields a car driven by Toby Porter in NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series action at the track.

Practice for an American Revolution 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet begins Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with Busch Pole Qualifying at 6:00 p.m.
