TWO NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL DIVISION, BUSCH EAST SERIES COMPETITORS PENALIZED FOR RULES INFRACTIONS AT DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2006) -- Two NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series competitors have been fined and penalized for rules infractions in last week's Busch East Series event at Dover (Del.) International Speedway.

Jimmy Means, crew chief for No. 52 Donnie Neuenberger, was fined $500 and penalized under sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (any determination by NASCAR officials that the car, car parts, components and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules) and 20C-13-B (steering idler arm that was not solid) of the 2006 Rule Book.

Richard Thompson, car owner of the No. 61 car driven by Brett Thompson, was fined $250 and penalized under sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (any determination by NASCAR officials that the car, car parts, components and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules) and 20C-14.2C (air entering brake cooling ducts from unapproved areas under the front of the car) of the 2006 Rule Book.
