No. 18 NOS Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Finishing Position: 2nd
How was your race today?
"It wasn't a bad day I guess. The car wasn't the best that it could've been I don't think. Unfortunately, we may have missed on something and I'm not sure what. It was just a little something because last year when I was in the 92 car I felt like we were better than Marcos (Ambrose) until Jeff Burton and I got together. This year I didn't have anything for him. Just a little something missing. All in all it was a good day. The guys were great on pit road. They got me out first and got me the track position that I needed when I needed it. Restarts were kind of a fiasco. Even from up front it was a little bit and just hard racing but we came home second."
Did you think Marcos Ambrose's late-race move around you was too aggressive?
"I think it was a little aggressive getting into the bus stop but you've got to do what you've got to do to win. I felt like it was a really, really late move and if I would've went through there with him I would've wrecked so I had to do what I had to do to preserve my car and save myself. We had the second best car today. I was trying to hold him off but just didn't have enough to do it unfortunately."
What did you think when you saw Marcos Ambrose make the move?
"I never saw him. I heard him and I heard him in the grass or wherever the hell he was. I don't know where he was. And I had to turn left. I couldn't keep going through the bus stop."
Would you have made that move that Marcos Ambrose did on the bus stop?
"I wouldn't have made it because I would've wrecked and I think we would've wrecked if one of the cars didn't give which I was the car that gave. I don't think it was a fair move. It won him the race and he had to do something. I wouldn't have been able to do it. I would've wadded my stuff up."
What happened when you passed Carl Edwards late in the race?
"I had a faster car by a half of a second a lap and he was blocking me. Because of the double file restarts he had the inside lane and he got by me but give a guy a break and just let me go. I drove away from him by a straightaway in four laps. It is what it is. He (Carl Edwards) wanted to race hard and he wanted to have fun so we'll smile about it and go on."
