Starting Position: 2nd

How was your qualifying lap?

"I'm really proud of the guys on the Dollar General Toyota. They did a tremendous job. When you really factor in that we have to run a smaller plate than the other manufacturers I think they did a tremendous job. It's always tough going into a race when you know you're at a deficit already compared to everyone else. To be able to run second and be able to run the time we did I think that everybody did their job and did it well and I'm looking forward to the race."

Do you like running double duty at Talladega?

"All of the races here are pretty good in my opinion. I like them. You either love these races or you hate them whether you're a driver or you're a fan. I've always loved them. I've enjoyed the drafting. The chess game at 200 miles an hour, three- or four- wide, even five-wide sometimes here. I think the Nationwide car is a good car especially for this series. I know that they had this package on the Cup cars at one point and they took it off. They felt like it was too much for those cars and the drivers and was probably the right decision. I do think it's a good package for these cars and these drivers. It allows the Nationwide Series drivers as a whole, with the exception of the Cup guys of never being quite as aggressive in the draft and nor should they be. When I first came to the Nationwide Series as a rookie I didn't really know what I was doing either. You didn't really see much passing and now with the roof rail and the spoiler lip or whatever you want to call it, I think it makes the racing for this series just right. I think it makes it a good race. You can pass. You don't have to be a master at it like you used to before they put the roof rail on it which I think gave the Cup drivers a huge advantage in the Nationwide Series cars before they adjusted the rules. Now, it's not as much of an advantage. I think it allows the rookies to get up there and race with the guys a little bit more so it should be a good race."

How does it feel to be back at Talladega where you earned your first Cup victory?

"I love it. I love coming to Talladega. It's a great track -- one of my favorites. Three-wide at 200, you can't beat it. The fans here are awesome. They're super dedicated and I like it. I'm really proud of the Dollar General crew in the Nationwide Series. They've done a great job. I know it's very frustrating for them and for Toyota to have to do more with less. We don't get to run the same restrictor plate that the other manufacturers do. They get a bigger restrictor plate and that's unfortunate. Otherwise we'd probably be on the poll. But I'm still really proud of the effort considering we have the smaller plate and getting second and I'm really proud of the guys. We'll do our best tomorrow."
