NASCAR driver Ryan Reed to visit Miami Children's Hospital

WHAT: NASCAR driver Ryan Reed, 21, will come together with Miami Children’s Health Foundation (MCH Foundation) to visit Miami Children’s Hospital on Thursday, Nov.13 where he will meet with young diabetes patients and discuss his journey racing with type 1 diabetes.

Miami Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the art facility known for its world-class pediatric care with more than 40 subspecialties, the largest pediatric neurology department in the United States, and a top provider of cardiology and neonatology services. Its fundraising arm, MCH Foundation, is currently dedicating all its efforts and energy to the success of Together For The Children, The Campaign For Miami Children’s Hospital, and visits like Ryan’s serve to bring awareness of our efforts as we come together for the children. 

We invite you to come meet Ryan at Miami Children’s Hospital and have the chance to see how his story inspires those around him.

WHY: In an effort to continue to increase diabetes awareness and education, Lilly Diabetes is supporting NASCAR driver Ryan Reed and the American Diabetes Association on Drive to Stop Diabetes℠, a national diabetes awareness initiative. As part of the campaign, Reed will visit local children’s hospitals while traveling for races.  

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: NASCAR Driver Ryan Reed can speak to his partnership with the American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop Diabetes℠ campaign and Lilly Diabetes. He can also speak about his non-profit, Ryan’s Mission, and his story of being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and its effects on his racing career. 

Jose Antonio Hernandez-Solaun, Chair of the American Diabetes Association Miami-Dade Community Leadership Boardcan speak to the partnership with Lilly Diabetes and NASCAR driver Ryan Reed in addition to the Drive to Stop Diabetes℠ campaign.
