Brad Coleman, driver of the No. 27 Carino's Italian Grill Ford Fusion is no stranger to road courses. The 19-year old finished 38th after a broken transmission in last year's race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. He has one top-10 finish this season and seeks another top-10 finish this weekend.
THERE IS SOME BUZZ THAT YOU ARE ONE OF THE STRONG ROAD RACERS OUT THERE. WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS? "We definitely want to at least get a top-10, but we know we can go out there and get a top-five. Just have a good race and keep our nose clean. We just go out there and know what we can do. Last year, we should have had a top-five, but the transmission broke. This year, we're going to see if we can get that Carino's Ford Fusion up to the front."
HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS TRACK? "This is really fun. It's a fun track. It's wide and there's a lot of different kind of turns. You have the sharp turns, you have the s-turns and the big sweeping radius and a really long straightaway. It's different, but it's fun."
ARE YOU MORE AT EASE ON A ROAD COURSE? "It's fun coming to this races. You get to go out of the country, so it's like you're on vacation, then you get to go racing."
THERE ARE A LOT OF ROAD RACERS OUT THERE PROVIDING SOME PRETTY TOUGH COMPETITION. "When you race on the oval with the Sprint Cup guys, it's a lot tougher than racing on a road course with these guys, in my opinion. The Sprint Cup guys are just so good at what they do and they've got such good equipment. These guys are really good at this but I feel like I'm right on there level because I've done the 24 Hours of Daytona and I have done some road racing."
DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER SOME OF THE ROAD COURSE RACERS HERE THIS WEEKEND? "Not Scott Pruett or Max Papis or Patrick Carpentier because they have some experience in these cars and they'll do really good. Marcos Ambrose, he'll do really good too."
