* Leffler at Las Vegas Motor Speedway... By the numbers... In six Nationwide Series starts at Las Vegas, Leffler has started inside the top-10 twice and has posted one top-five finish. His best performance at the 1.5- mile track came one year ago, when he was running second and contending for the win before running out of fuel on the last lap. He was credited with a fourth-place finish after starting 23rd.

Adding to his experience at Las Vegas, Leffler has one NASCAR Camping World Series start (2002- started 7th and finished 5th) and two Sprint Cup Series starts (best finish 22nd in 2005).

* Leffler Returns to His USAC Roots on Thursday Night... Leffler will kick off the weekend by competing in the USAC Midget race on Thursday night at the one-half mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Leffler's NASCAR career was jumpstarted by his success in the open wheel ranks in the late 90's. Most notably, Leffler became the first driver in 37 years to win three consecutive USAC Midget National titles (1997-1999).

Leffler looking to repeat last year's performance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

"Las Vegas Motor Speedway has its own unique characteristics. It has a wide racing surface that allows you to run two and three- wide. The transition from the corners to the straight-aways and then the straight-aways to the corners are really nice. In all, it's just a really fun place to race -- probably as fun for the drivers as it is for the fans.

We had a great run at this track last year -- contending for the win before running out of fuel on the last lap. Still, we came away with a fourth-place finish; the best I have finished here in a Nationwide race. We have good notes and I think we have a car that will run even better here this time around. I look forward to another strong run this weekend and hopefully the chance to contend for the win! "

Leffler on how team performance for the first few races sets the tone for the season

"The first five races are pretty crucial to how you approach your end-of-season goals, which in our case is the championship. Your performance in those first three to four events sets the tone for the early part of the season, and is a good indicator of where you are in comparison to everyone else. Depending on how it goes, you may have to adjust your goals some -- take it week by week as opposed to focusing on your over-all objective. To me, Daytona doesn't really count because you know there's only a 50/50 chance of coming home with a good finish. We struggled at California last weekend but still finished 14th, which in the scheme of things, isn't that bad. For me, this weekend is crucial. We know we can run good at this race track and contend for the win, as we did last year. So now, we just have to back that up and repeat that performance. A strong finish at Las Vegas will give this Great Clips team a good burst of momentum at the perfect time! "

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will unload chassis #035 in this weekend's Sam's Town 300. This chassis last saw track time in the 2009 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway (started 14th/ finished 18th) and at Texas Motor Speedway in the fall (started 3rd/ finished 3rd).
