BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger) Qualified 1st
"That was awesome! I'm so proud of Paul (Wolfe, crew chief) and this entire Discount Tire Dodge team and Penske Racing. I'm awful at qualifying this cars; I'm just terrible, just look at my track record. I'm about the worst there is (laughs). What an accomplishment for this team. We just got out there, pulled the belts tight and ran it as hard as I could. I didn't breathe for about 60-seconds. Awesome lap. A brand new race team. I really thought that lap that Kevin (Harvick) laid down was untouchable and we did it. Awesome job by everyone back at Penske Racing. This is an awesome feat."
PAUL WOLFE (Crew Chief, No. 12 Discount Tire Dodge Charger)
"A great effort by everyone on this Discount Tire Dodge team. We've been working really hard. We were decent off the truck, but struggled over the bumps on the track and ride quality. We worked really hard on getting it race well. This is a one-groove track and if you don't stay in that groove, you'll get in trouble fast. We just worked really hard to get it to drive well and we've got a little speed here in qualifying too."
AS A CREW CHIEF, WHAT DO YOU TELL YOUR DRIVER WHEN YOU HAVE A TRACK THAT IS AS TIGHT AS LAS VEGAS? "Brad does a good job at balancing that out and that's was our focus coming into the weekend. We just needed to put a car underneath him that can drive well. It might not have the speed in it, but something that (he) could race well and be there at the end to go for a win. Where all that speed came from we're not sure, but we'll take it (smiles)."
JUSTIN ALLGAIER (No 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger) Qualified 13th
"The Verizon Wireless guys have done a great job all weekend long and have given me a real fast race car. Here at Las Vegas, it's all about running up front and getting that clean air. We feel like we can be a little better than we were in qualifying and I know we have more left in the car. We'll just keep an eye on the weather and see what happens."
HOW WILL RAIN AFFECT THE WEEKEND? "Just a lot of sitting around waiting. We worked hard yesterday in race trim to try and make sure that we had a good car for the race. No matter what the conditions are going to be, we know that we're going to be competitive. We're fighting a little bit of a tight condition which a lot of people are because of how cool the temperatures are in Vegas. No matter, if we race today, tomorrow or Monday, our Verizon Dodge is fast."
* Keselowski earned his fourth-career NNS pole and first in a Dodge.
