James Buescher preview

Talladega

·In the driver's seat... NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) young gun, James Buescher, will jump behind the wheel of the No. 30 ABF Chevrolet Impala this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. The 21-year-old, who is running for the NCWTS driver's championship with Turner Motorsports, will make three more starts in the ABF Chevy in 2011 at Richmond International Raceway, Dover International Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.

I am excited to get into the Nationwide car. I really enjoy working with Stewart [Cooper, crew chief] and the No. 30 guys.

·This week's Impala... The No. 30 ABF team will hit the track with chassis TMS-111 this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. This is the same chassis Kasey Kahne raced to an 11th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in February.

·Calling the shots... For his limited run in the Nationwide Series, Buescher will work with veteran crew chief Stewart Cooper. Cooper also calls the shots for Kasey Kahne and Reed Sorenson on a limited basis.

- Remembering Beau ... This weekend at Talladega, Turner Motorsports' four NNS entries will carry decals honoring the life of former ARCA Series competitor and Turner Motorsports employee Beau Slocumb who lost his heroic battle with cancer last weekend. Slocumb made four ARCA starts in 2009, logging an impressive 7.0 starting average combined with a solid 11.2 average finish. The 26-year-old driver logged a pair of top-10 finishes over those four starts including a career-best fifth-place finish at Kansas Speedway. Slocumb began his career racing Legends cars and climbed the professional ladder through the late model ranks, earning 131 feature wins in Legends and late model competition, and eventually making his mark in the ARCA series. He is survived by his wife Jessica, parents Burke "Buster" and Jeanne, brothers Seth and Daniel and sister Maggie. Memorials can be made to the Ryan Newman Foundation, Hospice of Iredell County (N.C.) or Hospice of Central Georgia.

I really think we are going to have a chance to get this ABF Chevy into Victory Lane on Saturday.

James Buescher on Racing at Talladega in the Nationwide Series

"I am excited to get into the Nationwide car. I really enjoy working with Stewart [Cooper, crew chief] and the No. 30 guys. I have been spending a lot of time at the track and in the shop hanging out with them, and I really think we are going to have a chance to get this ABF Chevy into Victory Lane on Saturday," Buescher said. "After seeing the racing at Daytona, and the two-car drafts, I want to be the 'pusher' at Talladega. You don't see the 'pusher' getting spun and it's definitely the position you want to be when it comes down to the end. I think the 'pusher' has the advantage over the guys getting pushed".
