Veteran crewman injured during pit stop in Nationwide Series race.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Crewman Mark “Hollywood” Armstrong tore his left rotator cuff during a pit stop on Saturday.
Armstrong was changing the front tires on the No. 98 Medallion Financial/Smithfield Ford for Corey Lajoie when the incident occurred on Lap 52. Richard Childress Racing’s Matt Humphries stepped in for Armstrong for the remainder of the race.
The 18-year NASCAR veteran from Gastonia, N.C. also works as a backup crewman for Joe Gibbs Racing.
