JAMIE MCMURRAY SET TO MAKE DEBUT IN NO. 17 CITIFINANCIAL FORD FUSION
Concord, N.C. (February 19, 2008) - Jamie McMurray and Roush Fenway Racing's No. 17 CitiFinancial team are set to have a weekend of firsts at California Speedway. Saturday's Nationwide Series race will mark McMurray's first outing with the No. 17 team and crew chief Drew Blickensderfer. This weekend will also mark CitiFinancial's debut with the No. 17 Ford Fusion. CitiFinancial made its Roush Fenway Racing debut last weekend during the Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway, finishing 7th with Greg Biffle and the No. 16 team.
"I'm excited for the Nationwide Series race at California Speedway this weekend," said McMurray. "It's a new team for me. I've known Drew for a few years but we've never been together during a race. He's proven himself and had a lot of success. He won this race last year with Matt Kenseth so I'm really looking forward to getting in the car and seeing what we're able to carry over from his win in 2007. I also have to welcome CitiFinancial to the No. 17 Ford Fusion. They had a strong first race last weekend with the No. 16 guys and I know our team is ready to pick up where they left off and get CitiFinancial two good finishes in a row."
"I'm really looking forward to getting to California this weekend," added Blickensderfer. "Jamie is a great driver and he tends to run really well there. I got my first win as a crew chief in this race last year and it's always good to return to a track you've won at before. I'm just excited. Winning there last year was great but I want to make it two in a row."
In 18 career starts at California Speedway, McMurray has five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.
