Darlington, S.C. (May 9, 2009) -- Kevin Hamlin driving the D.H. Griffin Dodge Charger finished the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 26th at the historic South Carolina raceway known as the track "Too Tough to Tame".

When rain showers cancelled qualifying for the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 the starting lineup for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Darlington Raceway was set by owner points. Starting the race in the 25th position, Hamlin moved the D.H. Griffin machine up five positions by lap 10.

The No. 81 was plagued with a rear end handling issue that created a challenge for the team and driver for most of the race. The MacDonald Motorsports crew worked to make adjustments to the Dodge Charger throughout the evening in an effort to improve handling.

After the 10th yellow flag of the race with 32 laps run under caution, an attempt at a green-white checkered finish was made. However, the race finished instantly when Morgan Shepherd hit the inside wall on the restart.

Following Friday night's race at Darlington Raceway the No. 81 Dodge Charger owned by MacDonald Motorsports currently stands in 25th place, 80 points outside of 20th in owner points. "We're looking forward to the extra week in the shop before the race in Charlotte and feel we're working in the right direction to move into the top 20 this season," noted owner Randy MacDonald.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series will be off next week, and will race again when Lowe's Motor Speedway hosts the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 under the lights on May 23.
