"This is a place that I've run at and never got a top 10, so I'm pretty pumped right now. The guys that we're racing in points, the 18 and 33, were in front and behind us, so the points didn't change much tonight. I'll just chalk it up to a decent night. We probably could have gotten a third-place finish out of the race if we didn't pit and take four tires. We made the move that we thought was our best shot to win the race and in the end, all those cautions just killed us."
WHEN YOU TOOK FOUR TIRES, DID YOU THINK THAT YOU HAD THE CAR TO BEAT? "Yep. If we could get the race to run green, I think that we had them covered. It just didn't happen."
PAUL WOLFE (Crew Chief, No. 12 Ruby Tuesday Dodge Charger)
"The finish was a little disappointing. We know we had a better car than a seventh-place car. Hindsight is 20-20, but I guess looking at it now, the 18 and 20 stayed out and they finished 1-2. Obviously, we could have stayed out and probably finished top five, but all-in-all, it wasn't a bad night, we're bringing cars home and gaining points. We've just have to keep moving forward."
JUSTIN ALLGAIER (No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger) Finished 17th
"I'm not sure that there are words that can describe this night. To get up front early and lead laps was awesome. We just didn't have anything for the 18 and 20 and let them go, settled in and just ran some laps. We come down on a yellow and I'm not sure if we ran over some debris, but we took off on the restart and knew immediately something was wrong. I thought that we had a left-side going down, we changed lefts and went back out, but it didn't fix the problem. We spent the next 30 laps trying to figure out what it was, made a pit stop under another yellow and found out that it was a right-front. To come back from two laps down, passing for 10th (position) with two to go, then I got in trouble in 3 and 4 and ended up dropping back to 17th. It was a good night for the Verizon Wireless Dodge guys. They worked their butts off. I just wish I could have gotten them a better finish."
CHAD WALTER (Crew Chief, No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger)
"I thought we were actually going to sneak up into the top 10, but we got in a late-race incident with two or three laps to go. I can't tell you how proud I am of the Verizon team today, everybody at Penske Racing. This is the track 'To Tough To Tame'. I love coming here, I love racing here, but she can break your heart. We're looking forward to next week going to Dover where I think Justin is really coming around and get the Verizon Dodge back up in the top five where we belong."
