McDOWELL BRINGS 600 MILES OF EXPERIENCE TO LOWE'S

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Charlotte, N.C. (May 21, 2009)- Many NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers go through quite a learning curve during this weekend's CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Michael McDowell already flattened that learning curve out.

"I ran the Coke 600 here last year in the Sprint Cup car. The 600 will teach you a lot about the changing track conditions, lines and car conditions. They say practice makes perfect, and we ran 600 miles here already", said McDowell.

Taking on NASCAR's longest race is quite a challenge, but one McDowell is grateful for.

"The opportunity to take that experience into this weekend's Nationwide event is priceless. Knowing what to expect is the most valuable asset to have. Hopefully we can turn that asset into some great results", said McDowell.

McDowell: "I love to race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Not only can I leave my house and be at the racetrack in 20 minutes, but the track is a great place to race. You carry a lot of speed around this place and the balance is so vital to each lap."

The No. 47 Tom's Snacks JTG Daugherty Racing team will compete with chassis #51 in this weekend's CARQUEST Auto Parts 300. This car was last seen at Nashville where it led nine laps and finished 15th.
