Queen City Debut: John Wes Townley will attempt to make his first career start at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend in the Dollar General 300. Townley and the No. 09 team were unable to test the 1.5-mile oval in preparation for this event.

The Last Time Around-Dover: John Wes Townley and the No. 09 RAB Racing team showed signs of a promising NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at the "Monster Mile", but was sidelined just past half-way due to engine troubles during the Camping World RV Sales 200 at Dover International Speedway.

The Watkinsville, GA native toured the 1-mile concrete oval in 24.037 seconds (149.769 mph), posting the 21st-fastest qualifying time overall and the third-fastest time of the "go-or-go-home" teams.

After racing in the top-25 for most of the afternoon, Townley radioed in to his team that he felt like the car was losing power and it was then that the team realized the Zaxby's Ford had broken a valve spring and needed to bring the car behind the wall. At lap 143 of 200 the team announced they were done for the day due to the problem.

Coming off a Good Run: Last weekend, John Wes Townley made his Talladega Superspeedway debut in the Talladega ARCA RE/MAX 250. The SunTrust Rookie of the Year contender started the 250-mile event in the 16th position and would bring home the team's highest finish of seventh at Talladega.

After 20: After 20 of the 21 scheduled events in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series, Townley has one top-five, eight top-10's and 14 top-15's. The 18- year-old rookie has an average starting position of 13.70, an average finish of 15.10 and has completed 90.72% of all laps attempted (2620 out of 2888).

Points Check: Townley's seventh-place finish at Talladega propelled him to seventh in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship point standings with 4090 points; just 30 markers behind sixth place, Patrick Sheltra.

Rookie Race: Currently, Townley sits fourth in the 2008 SunTrust Rookie of the Year standings with 372 points and was the highest finishing rookie in the Talladega ARCA RE/MAX 250.

Charlotte Chassis: Crew chief, Blake Bainbridge has chosen chassis No. 026 for the Dollar General 300 this weekend. This is a previous Greg Biffle chassis from the Roush Fenway Racing stables and will be making its debut this weekend for RAB Racing.

What the team has to say:

John Wes Townley, driver of the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford: "I'm really looking forward to my first race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. We didn't get a chance to test here, but I feel confident in the set-up my team has provided me with and my goal is simply to make the race and gain as much experience as possible."

Blake Bainbridge, crew chief of the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford: "The entry list for the Dollar General 300 this weekend is impressive and it will no doubt be a tough race to make. I do however feel confident in the chassis we are bringing this weekend; it's a different car than we took to Dover but with a similar set-up, and we were the third fastest go-or-go-home car there behind Kyle Busch and Jamie McMurray. Most importantly we have a driver with more experience and confidence under his belt."
