STORY LINES LEADING INTO WATKINS GLEN:
Back To Stock Car Racing: Michel Jourdain Jr. makes his third NASCAR Busch Series start of the 2006 racing season. Jourdain competed in Busch Series races at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in his hometown of Mexico City, Mexico and at Kentucky Speedway this past June. Jourdain has also been competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, making four starts to date in 2006.
Say Cheese!: KRAFT Foods and its KRAFT Singles brand will sponsor the No. 15 ppc Racing Ford Fusion race team at Watkins Glen International. Jourdain is one of 10 NASCAR drivers that are part of Team KRAFT Racing in '06. 2006 marks KRAFT Foods' second year supporting Jourdain's efforts in stock car racing
Michel Jourdain-a "Rookie" to Watkins Glen: Although not new to road course racing, Jourdain is a true "rookie" to the 2.45-mile Watkins Glen, NY road course. He has never been to the track before and plans to take the few laps to feel his way around its left and right turns!
Team Brings "ppc29" to Kentucky Speedway: Crew Chief, Steve Plattenberger has chosen to bring "ppc29" as the team's primary car at Watkins Glen International. Jourdain raced ppc29 in Mexico City in March where he led two laps before contact with the #5 of Kyle Busch took the #15 out of the race.
JOURDAIN ON WATKINS GLEN:
"I'm really looking forward to Watkins Glen. The team has a lot of work into the road course cars. Hopefully we will be good. I've never been to Watkins Glen but I hear that everybody loves it that has been there. I am really looking forward to getting back into the Busch car. I really have no idea what to expect from the track but I hear it's a lot faster than Mexico City. I've only been in a Busch car in Mexico City. I'm looking forward to going to a track with a lot more grip and to go faster."
JOURDAIN ON KRAFT:
"I think the car looks really cool. It's going to be good. KRAFT has been helping and supporting myself and the team the last couple of years so I hope to give them a really good result."
JOURDAIN ON QUALIFYING:
"Of course when you have to make it on time, everything has to go right, you cannot have any problems. In Mexico, we made it no problem but I don't want to be over confident. We've got to be smart about it. You have to lay one down. I don't know what qualifying system they are going have if it will be like Mexico City this year or last year so we just have to go early and on the safe side and not risk it and make sure we complete the lap."
