TIM FEDEWA NASHVILLE SPEEDWAY, USA APRIL 3, 1999
Fedewa will show up in Nashville with bells and boots on. Collecting both a top-five and top-10 finish in his last two outings places him directly in the heat of competition for bringing home that Gibson guitar to match the one teammate Mike McLaughlin brought home last year.
“There’s nothing like a good short track race,” said Fedewa. “Nashville is a track you race with aggressiveness and racers end up bumping and banging. But hey, that’s part of this game. I can’t wait to race there. We have a strong short track program. So far this year the Stanley car has collected top-10 finishes on both short tracks that we have raced.”
The No. 36 Stanley race team will be unloading a Pontiac that has not been run so far this season. Fedewa will climb in the saddle of a racecar and take over the reins of strong horsepower and intricate handling and plans on rustling up a great run.
“This Stanley race team knows how to race at Nashville,” said Clyde McLeod, team manager for Cicci-Welliver Racing. “With Fedewa behind the wheel, there is no doubt that we will be strong. Short track racing puts the driver in control and they go at it at Nashville. Cars come home from a short track looking like they had a hard day in the office and usually they have.”
Fedewa will sign autographs at the Wildhorse Saloon on Thursday, April 2, from 7-9 p.m.
