TWO NO. 06 3M CREW MEMBERS RETURN HOME TO TEXAS
CONCORD, N.C. -- For drivers and crew members alike there is nothing like racing in front of their hometown crowd. Two members of Todd Kluever's No. 06 3M racing team will be doing just that this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Kenny DeGuisto, tire specialist for the team, is a native of Garland, Texas, located just outside of Dallas. Chaz Meyer, the team's rear tire changer, grew up in Dallas.
"I'm looking forward to going back," DeGuisto said. "Since the Busch garage is not open Friday hopefully I'll get the chance to visit some old friends and see what's new around there. We always want to win every race, but winning in Texas would be especially cool for me."
"I lived in Dallas from about the fourth grade until I graduated high school," Meyer said. "I moved to Houston after that and lived there for about 10 years. My son still lives in Houston and he couldn't make it to this race, but he'll probably come to the race in November. I don't arrive in Texas until Saturday morning and then leave right after the race so I won't be able to spend any time in Dallas on this trip. It was a nice place to grow up and it's always fun to race there now."
Roush teams have a strong record at Texas Motor Speedway. Roush's NEXTEL Cup entries have won half of the 10 races held there. Roush also has three Busch Series victories and one Craftsman Truck Series win.
Roush Racing is a subsidiary of Livonia, Mich., based Roush Entersprises that operates 14 motorsports teams; five in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup with drivers Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards, six in the Busch Series with Martin, Kenseth, Biffle, Edwards, Todd Kluever and Danny O'Quinn, Jr., and three in the Craftsman Truck Series with Martin, David Ragan and Erik Darnell.
