Team Rensi Motorsports announces new Parnership with Timberland.
Partnership designed to drive consumer awareness of Timberland PRO Series among NASCAR fans
Mooresville, NC, January 30, 2003 - Team Rensi Motorsports, which fields the No. 25 Team Marines Ford Taurus in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division, announced today a strategic partnership with the Timberland Company and its Timberland PRO line of work boots, apparel and gear for working professionals.
Throughout the 2003 racing season, Timberland will promote its Timberland PRO series via associate sponsorship of the No. 25 NASCAR Busch Series entry, owned by Team Rensi Motorsports and driven by Bobby Hamilton, Jr. The primary advertising partner of the No. 25 Ford Taurus is the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to generating valuable exposure on the car itself and on driver and pit crew uniforms, this partnership with Team Rensi Motorsports - and the Team Marines Racing program - presents a host of promotional opportunities to help build awareness and drive preference for the Timberland PRO series among target consumers. In addition to being the lynchpin of the Timberland PRO series ad campaign, it will also be utilized to strengthen relationships with existing and potential retail partners.
"Partnering with Team Rensi and the Team Marines Racing program is a powerful opportunity for us to extend our presence with NASCAR racing fans while at the same time gaining valuable insights into our core consumer base," said Stewart Whitney, global director for the Timberland PRO series. "With this team's commitment to performance and integrity, both on and off the track, we believe they are the perfect partner for the Timberland PRO series. We look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship."
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. joined Team Rensi in 2002, and immediately proved his potential. He captured his first win at the New Hampshire International Speedway, as well as posting six top-five and 15 top-10 finishes throughout the year. He finished out the season in eighth place in the overall NASCAR Busch Series points standings. Heading into 2003, many NASCAR watchers consider Hamilton, Jr. a lead contender for the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series title.
"We're excited to have the opportunity to partner with such a well-respected brand," said Sam Rensi, president of Team Rensi Motorsports. "Consumers believe in Timberland, and that's a critical factor for us as we bring on new partners. We believe that our association with the Timberland PRO series, combined with our relationship with the U.S. Marine Corps, will only help expand the strong following Team Rensi already enjoys."
Key elements of the Timberland PRO series/Team Rensi partnership include:
1. The Timberland PRO series logo will appear on the lower rear quarter panels as well as the rear TV panel of the #25 Marines Ford Taurus and show car
2. The Timberland PRO series logo will also appear on transport vehicles and haulers, pit carts, and driver/pit crew uniforms and helmets
