Compton to remain in 59 car in 2003.
Laying to rest many rumors to the contrary, Stacy Compton and ST Motorsports today announced that Compton has signed to drive the #59 Kingsford/Johnsonville Chevrolet in the Busch Grand National Series for the entire 2003 season.
The team has been potent at times this season and Compton feels like the results to date are something that everyone can build on. "I've really enjoyed my time with ST Motorsports in the Busch Series this season. We already have 6 top tens, a couple of top fives, and we have been in position to win several races together. I feel very comfortable working with Crew Chief Steve Plattenberger, Frankie Kerr and all of the guys. I'm certain that if we keep everything together we will only get stronger. Our Sponsors are first-rate companies and have been extremely supportive. The whole situation is great and I'm really excited to be back in the car in 2003 and, I hope, way beyond that."
Car owners Tad and Jodi Geschickter echoed Compton's sentiments. "Stacy is a great fit for our company and for our Sponsors. He is a man of integrity and he has become a good friend. We are excited to have a driver of Stacy's caliber make a long-term commitment to us. We are certain that we can continue to build a highly competitive team and a strong Sponsor marketing program around him."
