SPARTANBURG, SC (November 4, 2003) -- With only two races left on the schedule, the #1 Dodge team is very excited to be headed to North Carolina Speedway. Driver Jamie McMurray has won the past two Busch races there, and he sat on the outside pole in the February Rockingham 200.
"My time was pretty close to (David) Green's pole time earlier this year," McMurray said. "I guess it didn't really matter since I led all but five laps that race, including the most important lap! Obviously, I love this racetrack; two of my three Busch series wins are here at Rockingham. I am really looking forward to this race. Things are very heated in the Busch series right now with the point battle being so tight, so you know things are going to be very interesting in this race.
"I have battled hard and won the last two races here, so I am defending this race win. I would definitely like to make it three in a row. I'm competitive and I'm here to win."
The #1 Dodge team has a strong record at Rockingham as well. In the past three races here they have started and finished all three events in the top ten, with one win.
"This is a great track for our team," car chief Jon Wolfe said. "We have really pulled together lately and become consistent, which is very important. With our history at this track, and Jamie's as well, I am looking for a really great weekend if you know what I mean."
Yellow Transportation will be the associate sponsor on the #1 Dodge for the Target House 200 at North Carolina Motor Speedway. The race will be held on Saturday, November 8. The race will be aired live on TNT and be broadcast live on MRN beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Qualifying for the event will take place Friday, November 7 at 1:35 p.m. EDT and will be aired on the Speed Channel.
