YOU STARTED THIRD AND FINISHED SECOND. "Yeah, I only passed one car. It was exciting to say the least. At the end of my run there, it got a little too tight in the middle of the corner and then it was really loose off. I moved around the race track and couldn't find a line that worked for our car today. It ended up on that green-flag stop that I stopped deep in the pit box, got in really hot, and slide up to the front of the pit box and I didn't think that anybody else would come in under green-flag, and then here comes the 21 that's pitting in front of me and blocking me in. We had to back up and that's what got us a lap down; it took us a little extra time in the pits and that's kinda my fault for getting too deep in the pit box. It worked out really for us because I was in the back, the back of the lead lap and we were able to come in and put tires on it, and it turned out to pay out for us in the end. Tires are the key here in Rockingham and it paid off for us today."
WAS IT A DRASTIC FEELING WHEN THE TIRES FALL OFF? "Yeah it is. It's three seconds a lap. It only take about 10 laps to lap a car when it's three seconds a lap. In 10 laps, you're going by a guy that doesn't have any tires."
DID YOU HAVE ANY CLOSE CALLS? "Yeah, there were a bunch of close calls. I got in the wall passing some lapped traffic on one of the restarts. I was coming off of Turn 2, and it's really easy to do, I misjudged it a bit, hit it pretty flat, but it climbed up the wall a little bit, and it didn't effect the speed at all, thank goodness; it kept going pretty good. There were some close calls. I got trapped behind the 14 and then the 10, and I got behind another car. It took a while to get my way through there. We had a fast car, but I had to get a clean run there and then it was a march toward the front and to try to get the guys that didn't have tires."
ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE POINTS YET? "Not really. I think we're still OK. We didn't start off how we wanted to at Daytona, but finishing second here is definitely going to improve us. We wanted to get a top-five finish last week, and to finish second here, we might have been leading the points. We've got plenty of time and I think we have a strong team. The 57 is going to be tough, and we knew they were going to be tough all year. The 10 is probably going to be tough as well. We'll see."
