There's No Place Like Home:
For Mark McFarland there is truly no place like home. McFarland will make his third and final start of the season in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers Dodge this weekend at his home track of Richmond International Raceway with a lot of support from friends and family in the stands. For McFarland, it's a last opportunity to prove himself as the No. 1 driver in the Hungry Drivers program. The fact that the opportunity comes at a track where he has some experience and some past success, is not lost on the rookie driver. He faces the weekend in the No. 6 Dodge with a new confidence, knowing that he could be the one to give the Hungry Drivers program its first top-10 finish.
Double Duty for McFarland:
Mark McFarland will pull double duty in Richmond this weekend, driving the No. 59 Harris Trucking Dodge in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event on Thursday night and the No. 6 Hellmann's® Dodge in the NASCAR Busch Series on Friday night.
Mark McFarland on Richmond International Raceway:
"I'm really looking forward to climbing back into the No. 6 Hellmann's Dodge this weekend and to competing against the Busch Series guys again. This is my last race of the season with the Hungry Drivers team and I would really like to give them the top-10 finish that they deserve. Richmond is a good track for me. I have some experience there and a good number of laps under my belt which I think will give me at least some advantage. Running in the truck race on Thursday night is going to be another positive for me. It will allow me even more time to get a feel for the track out and to get a better sense of how the car's handling will be different at night and under the lights. I have more confidence going into this race than I have had all season."
The Hungry Drivers team will compete with chassis No. 12 this weekend. This is the same car that Paul Wolfe drove to a 12th place finish at New Hampshire International Speedway in July.
This Week's Primary Sponsor:
Hellmann's® mayonnaise will serve as the primary sponsor on the No. 6 Dodge this weekend in the Emerson Radio 250.
About The Hungry Drivers Program:
The Hungry Drivers program, sponsored by Ragu® pasta sauce, Shedd's Spread Country Crock® spread and Hellmann's® mayonnaise, places four up-and-coming drivers behind the wheel of the NASCAR Busch Series No. 6 Dodge. Four drivers have been named, including Tracy Hines, Paul Wolfe, Mark McFarland and Scott Lynch. The Hungry Drivers program allows each driver to compete in three races throughout the 2004 season.
