DAVE BLANEY CELEBRATES CINCO DE MAYO WITH HASS AVOCADOS FROM MEXICO:
* What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo weekend than to be sponsored by Hass Avocados from Mexico? Dave Blaney and the No. 10 Braun Racing team are looking forward to "pit stop guacamole" by day and short track racing under the lights by night at Richmond International Raceway.
* The torment Talladega is famous for relegated Blaney to a 32nd place finish last weekend. After getting collected in an early race accident, Blaney lost one position in the Busch Series point standings. He is now third, trailing last year's champion, Kevin Harvick and points leader Carl Edwards.
* In Busch Series competition, Blaney has logged 12 at the Virginia ¾ mile oval. He captured four top-10 starts and 3 top-10 finishes. His best Richmond race to date came last fall in the No. 32 Braun Racing entry also sponsored by Hass Avocados from Mexico. He started 12th and finished seventh in that race.
BLANEY ON RACING AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY:
"We are taking back the same car we raced there last September and that gives us confidence. We ran in the top-five pretty much the entire race but the tires we got on the last pit stop made the car too tight and we didn't get the finish we deserved. We also tested this car with the Toyota engine last month and it was really fast. I hope we can make a run for the checkered flag this weekend and take Hass Avocados from Mexico to Victory Lane on Cinco de Mayo weekend."
The No. 10 Hass Avocados from Mexico team will compete with chassis #28 in this weekend's Circuit City 250. This chassis was converted to a Toyota in the off season. It was raced in Phoenix two weeks ago where Blaney qualified 12th and finished 10th. This is also the same car the team took to the Richmond test earlier this season. Blaney was fifth fastest during the first day of testing.
