ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT YOU WERE ABLE TO GET THE POLE DESPITE YOUR LATE QUALIFYING DRAW?
"It was a good lap. I was a little surprised by the speed, but it was a good lap. The car has been driving great since we got here. Jimmy Fennig and the guys have done a great job with our Pennzoil car, and so far I've been pretty happy with it."
WHAT CAN YOU LEARN TODAY IN THE BUSCH RACE TO HELP YOU TOMORROW?
"Well, I hope we learn something. This Busch car has been pretty fast, so hopefully we'll get some of that stuff, and we'll get tire wear and how the track is going to change and that type of stuff. But, I'm not sure how much directly this stuff will relate, but we'll still get a good feel of the track today."
THE TIRE COMPOUND TODAY IS THE SAME ONE BEING USED TOMORROW. HOW MUCH WILL THAT HELP?
"It'll be nice. It's in the same conditions that we're going to run tomorrow, so it will be good to see tire wear and what the track is going to act like."
WITH QUALIFYING BEING RUN WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF THE RACE TODAY, DO YOU EXPECT A FAST CAR IN QUALIFYING TO BE A FAST CAR IN THE RACE?
"We qualify and it's an impound race, so I think it is somewhat relative. We did all of our race runs yesterday and just did the allowable adjustments and qualified. Usually when our stuff qualifies fast it's a good sign or it usually has the speed to it, so I think it will be relative."
