* LEFFLER SHOWS MUSCLE AT PHOENIX -- NBS Highlights
In six NBS starts at the one-mile track, Leffler has two poles (2000 and 2006) one top-five (2nd in 2000) and two top-10's. He has finished outside the top-20 just once. In addition, Leffler has completed all possible laps at PIR (1190/1190), with 121 laps led.
LEFFLER ON HIS WEEK AT PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
"This team has had such success on the short tracks this season that any time we go to a place like Phoenix we know we have a real opportunity to win. This is our kind of track and we have had a lot of success at here over the last couple of years. Our goal is to repeat those performances and get the Great Clips Toyota back into Victory Lane. It is going to be a busy weekend for me, running four races in three days with the USAC Midget and Silver Crown races on Thursday, the Truck race on Friday and the Busch race on Saturday, but I'm looking forward to it. As a racer, you wish you could race every day of the week so to have back to back races like this makes for an awesome week for me."
The Great Clips team will unload chassis #17 in this weekend's Arizona Travel 200. This is the same chassis Leffler drove to his second career victory in July at ORP in addition to a fifth place finish at Memphis, third place finish at The Milwaukee Mile and a 12th place finish at New Hampshire. In 2006, Leffler captured two poles and led a total of 180 laps, 76 of those laps occurring in the Phoenix spring race, in chassis #17.
