IT'S BEEN A JINX TO LEAD THE POINTS THIS YEAR. "If it's jinx, then Kevin Harvick is jinxed because he's the one that has the owner points, so I'll let the 21 car carry the jinx for the next race."
TALK ABOUT YOUR STRATEGY FOR THE FINAL TWO RACES. "Well, we can't lay down and we can't give up, we definitely can't start taking whatever we can. We've got to do the best job we can, try to make our car good enough to win races and try to be out front and lead laps and win races. That's the only way to be sure that you have a shot at the championship when you go into Homestead. We're not going to change our strategy and just stay focused at where we're we are at."
YOU WERE RACING SIDE BY SIDE WITH HORNADAY AT THE END OF THE RACE FOR POSITION. DID YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS RACING HIM WITH YOUR PAST ALTERCATIONS? "I don't think so. I think me and Hornaday have had our squabbles in the past and I think we're going to race each other hard and clean the rest of the races."
ARE YOU COMFORTABLE BEING THE POINTS LEADER IN A TIGHT FIVE-MAN BATTLE? "We want to lead the points after the Homestead race and the checkered flag falls. We're going to keep digging and anything can still happen from here. We're just going to keep working hard and keep trying to get where we need to be."
DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE WEARING THE BULL'S EYE NOW? "No, not really. I think the bull's eye is on all of us. Any one of us can slip up and make a mistake and fall from where we are all the way back to fifth pretty easy. We're just going to keep our blinders on, and if you really want to get technical with it, Kevin Harvick still has the points lead in our opinioned with a big points lead. If that's the case, we just need to stay focused, do the best we can and finish the year out."
THERE ARE A LOT OF VETERANS CHASING YOU IN THE POINTS. "Age doesn't really matter at this point. All of us, I feel all of the guys are very talented and all of them have great teams and all of them are racing well and racing competitive every week. It's just whoever makes the fewest mistakes and has the best race cars every week."
TALK ABOUT THE RACE TODAY. "We had rain, it was delayed and then got out there and racing and it started getting dark and started raining again. I'm glad we got it in, I'm glad we were able to get it in today and get focused for Rockingham next week."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 17th) -
"I don't think the rain affected us, we just didn't run good all weekend. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of good things to talks about."
THERE ARE STILL TWO MORE RACES LEFT IN THE SEASON AND YOU ARE STILL IN THE POINTS BATTLE. "We can overcome the deficit if we run better, but we can't if we run like we did today."
WALLY DALLENBACH-89-Mr. Clean AutoDry Car Wash Ford Taurus -
WHAT PUT YOU BEHIND THE WALL TODAY? "It was fun. The car was working pretty good and we really had it set up for long runs. I thought it was going to be a good day. I just got frustrated with slower cars, guys a lap down and not giving any room, so I used the bumper to them. Unfortunately the last guy I used the bumper to, it closed the radiator opening up a little bit, it overheated, and that's what put us out. We weren't keeping it very clean today, were we? I guess we need to build a little bit better front bumper. The guys are a lap down and they're just running all over the place. I pretty much have a two-lap rule, if they don't get over in two laps then I move them, but unfortunately it closed the radiator a little bit and it overheated and put us out."
