Ryan Newman may have been just aced for the Cup series pole at Chicagoland but that didn't dampen his spirits. He turned around and grabbed the pole for the Busch series race with a lap of 186.438 mph.

That gives Newman a front row start for both events this weekend.

"I knew we had a heck of lap," said Newman. "I knew it was going to be hard to beat."

Saturday will be Newman's second Busch series start at Chicagoland. In 2001, Newman also started on the pole but had a poor finish after being involved in an accident.

"Chicago has always been a good track for us," Newman continued. "In a lot of ways, I think we have some unfinished business on this track in the Busch series. We've got something to prove."

Kasey Kahne will start on the outside pole. But he was nowhere near Newman's time which was in a class of its own. Kahne ran a lap of 184.989 mph.

"We're happy with that," Kahne said. "Track position is everything here. That gives us a good starting spot."

Kyle, Busch, JJ Yeley and Kevin Harvick complete the top five.
