Team Marines Racing Notes & Quotes:
Earlier this season, Bobby Hamilton, Jr. finished third at Nashville Superspeedway, scoring his first Top-Five NASCAR Busch Series finish of the season and giving this team a newfound sense of confidence and a new outlook on the year.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on Nashville:
"Our solid run at Nashville in the spring was a turning point for this team. I think it was when we all realized that we could win. That sense of confidence really sparked something in this team. We began to really gel and everything started coming together the way we all hoped that it would.
I learned a big lesson a couple of months ago in Nashville and that is that you have to control your temper and frustrations out on the race track. Letting it get the best of you will lose you a race and that's exactly what happened in April. I can assure you that it's not going to happen this time. I am going out there this weekend with all intentions of making up for the mistakes I made last time and getting my second win right here at home.^Ô
Fred Wanke on Nashville:
"This whole team is excited about getting back to Nashville. They know we' re capable of winning there and that confidence has a direct affect on performance. The last Nashville race was big for Bobby. I think it taught him lessons as a driver that every driver has to learn before he can win a race. It also gave him the confidence to know without a doubt that he could win.
Despite our third place finish at Nashville in April, we are taking a different car. But the setup will remain the same. I don't think the concrete surface will change that much between day and night. At most, as the temperature begins to drop, the track is going to get quicker and the cars will start finding more grip. We'll most likely see the fastest speeds yet at Nashville and I have a feeling that that couldn't make Bobby Hamilton, Jr. happier."
The No. 25 Team Marines are bringing chassis No. 14 to Nashville Superspeedway. This will mark the second time this season the car will be used. This chassis made its first appearance of the season at two weeks ago at Charlotte, where Hamilton, Jr. dominated the early stages of the race and went on to finish 7th, posting his fifth top-ten finish of the season.
