GREG BIFFLE-60-Grainger Ford Taurus (Finished 33rd)
WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU AND RANDY LAJOIE? "I don't know. I just got a little bit loose coming off of Turn 4, and I guess I got turned around. Somebody got in the back of me and got jacked up off of the ground there and wouldn't let go of me. I thought I had it under control a couple of times, but he kept pushing and turned me around."
YOU WERE CHARGING YOUR WAY THROUGH THE FIELD. HOW GOOD WAS THE CAR? "I thought we had a car that could win today. We were up in the top 10 there, and I think it was the same person that turned me around in Daytona. I 'm sure not if we've got a problem with him or not. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it may have been a racing deal."
SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Finished 1st)
"I've got to give this to all the guys; they're the ones that did it. Great calls in the pits by Harold and all of the guys. They did a great job and never gave up. We even had a little stumble on the first pit stop, and nobody gave us on us, and I darn sure didn't give up on them. I've got to thank a lot of people, though. It's my cousin's birthday today, and little NASCAR Sam gave me this little good luck charm. He gave me a thumb's up picture and when we got down on that first pit stop, I just looked over at him, and he was looking over his shoulder with a little thumb's up man, and that's what I kept thinking - just keep digging. Everybody did an awesome job, but I thank everybody enough. Nesquik and my Ford Taurus always runs good, and to finally to finish it up and get us a win."
YOU TOOK TWO TIRES ON THE LAST PIT STOP. WHO MADE THAT CALL? "Having track position meant everything right there, so Harold knew that he had to get us out there and get us up front. Like I said, I've just got to thank all of the guys. They made the call and I never second-guessed them and knew that was the right way to go. I knew that we could hold them off if we got a good lead. I was just praying that we didn't have a caution right there at the end."
ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT WON YOU SEVEN RACES INTO YOUR BUSCH SERIES CAREER? "Not when you're sitting in the No. 10 Nesquik Ford Taurus."
BOBBY HAMILTON, JR. -25-Team Marines Ford Taurus (Finished 3rd)
YOU BATTLED FROM A LAP DOWN TO FINISH THIRD TODAY. "Yeah, we did. We probably had the fastest car. The 10 car, he would have been the one to beat, but the Marines Ford was fast and we proved it. We got a lap back and came from the back three times to finish third."
WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU AND TODD BODINE? "My temper got the best of me and cost me this race. He was a lapped car and he jumped back under me after I got by him; I was trying to catch the leaders. I just cut down on him, hopefully trying to cut in front of him and it ended up costing me. My temper cost me a lap. He was a lapped car and I know why he keeps getting fired from Winston Cup rides and is coming back to the Busch side. My temper cost me this race. I pleaded and begged with his spotter to let me go because he was a lapped car, and I told him, 'If you just let me go, I'll let you get by if the caution comes out.' He just kept racing, so I cut down on him, trying to cut down his right front and it cost me a win. I saw him spun out back there later and I'm sure somebody got tired of fooling with him, too."
YOU STILL MANAGED TO FINISH IN THE TOP THREE. "It could have been a bad day, but the Marines ford was just fast. Maybe the 10 car would have beat us, but he's the only one, if not, we would have been in contention."
HAS THE TRACK SURFACE IMPROVED FORM LAST YEAR? "My car didn't bobble all day, expect when I cut a tire. You just have to work on your car, that's it. If you work on your car, this place is just as good as any place you go to."
IS THE TRACK SURFACE COMING AROUND IN JUST ITS SECOND YEAR? "I think it is. Next year, it will even be better. If you watch the race, I passed two or three times on the outside, and nobody else could do that. I got up there one time and ended up picking up three-tenths. The track's there, you just have to run up there to use it."
YOU STILL POSTED A CAREER-BEST BUSCH SERIES FINISH TODAY. "It's not a win, but we're getting closer. If we keep doing this every week, jumping like we do, we'll be fine. We have to learn how to win these things. My temper cost me this race and we'll go to Talladega and try to win one there."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 5th)
"We ran good all day long. The Albertsons team really did good. We had good pit stops, and I have to congratulate my teammate, he gambled there at the end. Old Harold Holly, he's as sharp as they come and he won them the race today. It was a good day for ppc. We just got caught back there, and once we got caught back there, it just got away from us."
HOW WAS THE RACING OUT THERE TODAY? "I love coming here. I love coming to concrete race tracks; it's a lot of fun. The race could have played out a couple of different way, but it just didn't play in our favor for us at the end. We really can't be too sad with a top-five, but we always like to win one."
IT WASN'T LAPPED TRAFFIC, BUT THE CARS THAT TOOK ON TWO TIRES ON THE LAST PIT STOP SEEMED TO HOLD YOU UP. "We were just a little bit tight and we couldn't make our way back up through there. I'm happy for my teammate; they made a real gutsy call. Harold seems to know how to make those calls at the right time, but I'm real proud of my guys; we had good pit stops. You can always second-guess yourself, but I don't want to do that. We got a good top-five and led a lot of laps, so we'll got to Talladega."
WAS THERE ANY DISCUSSION ABOUT TAKING TWO TIRES? "I haven't talked to the crew chief yet to even know if he even thought about. I was just focusing on how the car handled, so in my mind, I was just going to let him make that decision, and go with it. It's easy to second-guess yourself. We just need to be happy with our top-five; it's the 50th of my career, so it's not too bad."
STEADMAN MARLIN-95-Keystone Light/Shoney's Inn Ford Taurus (Finished 27th)
YOU CAUGHT A LUCKY BREAK WITH A TIMELY CAUTION, BUT A PENALTY FOR TAKING ON MORE THAN THE THREE SETS OF ALLOTTED TIRES COST YOU A LAP. "The car just pushed all day long. The pit stop that we came in on, when NASCAR called us back in, we had a little incident where we put the right-front on the left-front and the stagger evened up. It just pushed all that much more. I was just tickled that we came back in one piece. We should have wadded it up, but we didn't wreck anything and came away with a halfway decent finish. If anything, we came away with some notes for the next time."
