-- Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the No. 12 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, returns to Michigan International Raceway for the third time in 2007 to attempt to qualify for his sixth NASCAR Busch Series race this season - his eighth in the series - on Saturday.

-- Hornish earned his first career MIS and stock car pole for the June ARCA RE/MAX 200 and finished a career stock car best -- second.

-- Although Hornish has yet to win at the 2-mile circuit, he possesses four top-five finishes and has led six of the seven races in which he has competed.

-- The Ohio native, who resides about an hour from the speedway, calls MIS his home track.

-- Matt Gimbel and the Mobil 1 crew are taking chassis PBC-014 as the team's primary car this weekend. Ryan Newman drove the car in April at Phoenix but was involved in an accident and failed to finish the event. PBC-007 is the backup car. Earlier this year, Newman drove the car to an 11th-place finish at Darlington and a fourth-place finish at Bristol.

-- Transitions is an associate sponsor on the car this weekend.

Hornish on Michigan: "With the track so close to home, my home track, having the opportunity to run at MIS three times this year is a real treat.

"We didn't do so well in the IndyCar race, but considering how well we ran in the ARCA race, I'm looking forward to the Busch event. Running the ARCA race allowed me to get a better feel for the track in a stock car. I'm confident that we'll have a good weekend."
