Mark Green and the Timber Wolf/Brewco Motorsports team are competing for the second time at the Nazareth Speedway. The one mile oval is only the fourth out of the first 13 tracks of the 1997 season on which they have competed previously. "The entire season has been a learning process for both myself and the team," said Green. "Returning to Nazareth Speedway, a track on which he have some experience, should help us turn our season back around." Embarking upon his first full-season of Busch Series competition, Green is currently 15th in the series points standings despite a string of misfortunes which has plagued the team since the April 5 Coca-Cola 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway. In the last five races, Green has been involved in three accidents and suffered one engine failure.

Mark Green will make his first trip around a road course since 1979 when the Brewco Motorsports team heads to Watkins Glen International June 4-5 to test the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo. "I always liked racing on road courses," said Green. "But, I haven't had much practice lately. The last time I raced on a road course was 18 years ago, driving a go-kart." The team is preparing for the June 29 Lysol 200 at the 2.45 mile circuit.

Smokin' Joes, headquartered in Waymart, Pennsylvania, is an associate sponsor on the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the CoreStates 200 at Nazareth Speedway. Brewco Motorsports' No. 37 Red Man Chevrolet NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry completed its second successful test session at the Winchester (IN) Speedway on May 14. The team will enter eight Craftsman Truck Series events in 1997 with David Green, Mark Green and Scot Walters alternating the driving duties. Both M. Green and Walters participated in the test. "I drove it for just a little bit," said M. Green. "We used this test to get Scot comfortable with the truck. He is very familiar with Winchester Speedway, so it is a great place for him to learn about the truck." On May 6, the Brewco Motorsports team conducted its first test with the No. 37 Chevrolet at the Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, Kentucky with M. Green and Walters. The first scheduled event for the team is on May 24 at the I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri with Walters, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, behind the wheel. Walters has experience in the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series and competed weekly at the Salem (IN) Speedway for several seasons. In eight 1996 Slim Jim All Pro starts, Walters won two races (Winchester, Indiana and Homestead, Florida) and scored one pole (Louisville, Kentucky).
