CHARLOTTE, N.C.-At the June 5, MBNA Platinum 200 held at Dover Downs International Speedway, Mark Green fell victim to "the monster mile" and finished the race four laps down in the 33 position. With over three months and 12 races behind him, Green is anxious to get back to Dover Downs to do battle once again for Saturday's MBNA.com 200. The high banked "monster mile" earned its name because of its capability of causing multi-car pile-ups. "Dover is such an unforgiving track in the sense that there is nowhere to go to avoid an accident," explains Green, driver of the Superflo/HMV Motorsports Chevrolet. "Due to the high banking, wrecked cars go straight to the bottom, leaving limited space for cars to avoid the wreck." "We fell victim to the track during the spring race and hope to relinquish that this weekend," added Green. "We did some repairs to the car we ran at Nazareth and are going to try it again this weekend. Hopefully the repairs will help and not hurt our performance." "The main thing we need to do to help our chances is to qualify towards the front, that way we can reduce our chances of getting into another pile-up," continued Green. "If we can start towards the front and stay out of trouble we have a good chance of putting the Superflo Chevrolet in the top-10."
